In 1972, The Mažeikiai Territorial Water Supply and Sewerage Control was established, and on April 16th, 1973 it belonged to the utility company – Water Association of the Ministry of Public Utilities. In 1991 The Board was reorganized into the Mažeikiai State Supply Company and on April 24, 1995. – SP UAB Mažeikių vandenys. The main activities of the company are: water collection, treatment and supply, wastewater treatment and sludge treatment, operates the system of surface (rain) wastewater networks in Mažeikiai.
