GCC visited the Lithuanian Post Logistics Centre in Vilnius
GCC colleagues visited the central logistics centre of the state-owned company Lithuanian Post in Vilnius, where they learned about the parcel sorting process and the rapidly expanding automation solutions being implemented. The visit was part of GCC’s ongoing programme of visits to state-owned enterprises (SOEs), aimed at gaining a deeper understanding of their operations, processes, and challenges.
During the visit, participants were introduced to the modern equipment used at the Lithuanian Post logistics centre, its operational management principles, and the ways in which technological solutions help increase efficiency, improve accuracy, and ensure faster parcel processing.
Lithuanian Post is currently undergoing a significant transformation. The company continues to invest in the modernisation of its logistics infrastructure, automation of processes, expansion of its parcel locker network, and the implementation of digital solutions that respond to the growing demand for e-commerce services.
The scale of these developments is reflected in the company’s operations: approximately 33 million parcels are processed annually, around 1,500 parcel lockers operate across the Baltic States, and a team of approximately 2,600 employees ensures service accessibility throughout Lithuania.
On the day of the visit, VKC colleagues wore jeans to mark International Denim Day, expressing solidarity with survivors of sexual violence and contributing to raising awareness of this important issue.
