Representatives of the Governance Coordination Centre participated in the OECD working group meeting
On April 1–2, 2026, the 46th meeting of the OECD Working Party on State Ownership and Privatisation Practices took place in Paris, attended by Governance Coordination Centre project managers Jokūbas Niedvaras and Kipras Stulginskas.
Issues related to special obligations were particularly relevant for Lithuania. This topic was discussed in the context of an OECD review study aimed at assessing how state objectives for SOEs are defined and implemented across different countries. This allows for comparison of international practices and identification of potential areas for improvement in Lithuania.
Discussions also covered the latest international trends related to strengthening the state’s role as an owner, strategic decisions on SOE acquisitions and privatisation, risk management, and the integration of sustainability into SOE governance practices.
During the meeting of the OECD working group, preliminary results of the 2026 OECD data collection on SOE ownership and governance were presented. The group also discussed the programme directions for 2027–2030 and upcoming activity priorities.
The Governance Coordination Centre represents Lithuania in the OECD Working Party on State Ownership and Privatisation Practices. This provides an opportunity for Lithuania to actively contribute to the development of international standards, share best practices, and strengthen SOE governance in line with the latest OECD recommendations.
