The SOE community gathered for the traditional forest planting initiative.
On April 15, at the invitation of the Governance Coordination Centre (GCC) and the State Forest Enterprise (Valstybinių miškų urėdija), the annual forest planting event for state-owned enterprise (SOE) communities took place.
Company representatives gathered in the Žeronys forestry district of the Trakai region to plant spruce, pine, and birch saplings — nurturing not only a growing sense of community but also a responsible attitude toward nature. A total of 20,000 saplings were planted during the event.
This year saw a record number of participants — top-level executives and board members from 22 different SOEs and 4 subsidiary companies joined the tree-planting initiative. We thank everyone who participated!
On the same day, at the invitation of “EPSO-G”, the SOE community also visited the Vilnius Battery Park, where they were welcomed by Mindaugas Keizeris, CEO of the EPSO-G Group, along with Rimvydas Štilinis, head of the energy storage operator “Energy cells”, and his team.
“Sustainability is an integral part of good governance in SOEs, and active participation in such initiatives is strong proof that commitments to sustainability are being reinforced not only through words but through real action. The forest planting tradition is meaningful — it symbolizes long-term responsibility not just for business outcomes, but also for the environment and society,” said GCC Director Vidas Danielius.
