GCC representatives and corporate sustainability experts reviewed the newly implemented sustainability requirements for companies at the event.
On October 24, during a remote event with representatives from major state and municipality-owned companies, along with corporate sustainability experts, we reviewed the newly implemented sustainability requirements for companies. GCC representatives and sustainability experts shared valuable insights and practical advice on this topic during the event.
The European Union (EU) is increasingly focusing on sustainability issues. Numerous legal measures have been adopted to reflect this trend, making it clear that more companies will be affected by sustainability requirements each year. It is not easy to navigate and properly prepare for the implementation of new requirements, so detailed information is extremely useful for companies.
– GCC Project Manager Natalija Smirnova reviewed what the European Sustainability Reporting Standards are, how sustainability reporting regulations work in the EU and Lithuania, and who is required to submit sustainability reports and from when.
– Ieva Paberalytė-Gražienė, Sustainability Programs Manager at AB “Ignitis Group,” shared experiences on “Ignitis Group’s” journey toward implementing the CSRD, offering advice from this process. She talked about the lessons learned from the EU Taxonomy disclosures, how the Group assessed double materiality, and the insights gained from this evaluation.
– Elvyra Mikšytė, Head of Organizational Sustainability at “Vesta Consulting,” shared insights on what CSRD and ESRS standards are, the strategic steps toward sustainability, the stages of creating a sustainability strategy, and the key forces driving sustainability in business.
We thank everyone who participated in the event!
